  1. Analyze complex lymphedema presentations using advanced assessment tools, limb measurement techniques, and differential diagnostic considerations to guide clinical decision-making.
  2. Apply advanced Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) principles and techniques, including technique selection, precautions, contraindications, fibrosis management, and adjunctive modality use, based on evidence-informed practice.
  3. Demonstrate skilled application of compression strategies, including gold-standard and alternative bandaging materials, multilayer bandaging for upper and lower extremities, and appropriate garment selection to support tissue health and volume management.
  4. Integrate interdisciplinary referral and risk management principles by identifying clinical red flags, comorbidities, and contraindications requiring coordination of care prior to or during Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT).
  5. Develop and document defensible plans of care that establish medical necessity, skilled intervention, measurable functional goals, progression of treatment, and transition to maintenance phases.
  6. Apply appropriate CPT and ICD-10 coding and reimbursement requirements, including provisions of the Lymphedema Treatment Act (LTA), to support ethical billing and payer compliance.
